SS25
SLOW MOTION
The best things in life take time and that applies to clothing too. It takes years to gain the experience to be able to design well and many hours are needed to select the right fabrics, the best trims, the perfect finishing touches. The results of this effort are rewarded in clothes that stand the test of time in your wardrobe too: classics that become firm favourites and are the opposite of fast fashion. For SS25, Hansen celebrates the expertise that takes years to accomplish with a collection that focuses on fabric, detail and style.
The colour palette is relaxed and summer-ready with gentle shades of bitter chocolate, ecru, pale blue and indigo set against black and white neutrals. Fabrics are light weight and easy to wear: from cotton voile for the perfect summer shirt to a stand out open weave gauze that transforms a simple blazer into something very special. Time too has its role in fabrication: garments are washed to give a soft handle and the technical expertise of weavers is shown in a space-dyed yarn fabric that creates a complex ‘flamed’ effect on a blazer and trousers. Elsewhere, a long line raincoat, perfect for summer showers, has a dry waxed finish that gives the patina of a much loved garment.
Unexpected details are, as always, central to the collection. A collarless jacket has surprisingly wide bellows pockets, a work jacket in drill opens to reveal immaculately bound seams and a tote bag, on closer inspection, is an origami like construction created from a simple square of fabric. At the same time, proportions and combinations may not be conventional: a suit comprising of drawstring trousers and a wrap front jacket is a contemporary take on urban dressing.
As always, all garments are produced in Europe and all fabrics and trims are made of natural materials. We carefully seek out craftsmanship that we think is rooted in the deep aesthetic values that we value. Historic traditions are paired with contemporary techniques and infused with soul and a drop of rational nostalgia.
These fabrics and garments took time to make so please take your time to enjoy them.
